At the initiative of the Management Body of Parnitha National Park in the school year 2011/2012 Greece participated for the first time in the European student competition “Young People in European Forests”. This is a pan-European competition in the field of forestry and is aimed at secondary school students, co-organized by the Special Secretariat for Forests, the Parnitha National Park Management Agency and the regional forest services until 2016.
O Φορέας Διαχείρισης Εθνικού Δρυμού Πάρνηθας ενσωματώθηκε στον Οργανισμό Φυσικού Περιβάλλοντος και Κλιματικής Αλλαγής (Ο.ΦΥ.ΠΕ.Κ.Α.) σύμφωνα με την υπ’ αριθμ. ΥΠΕΝ/ΔΝΕΠ/116740/4319/7-12-2021 απόφαση (ΦΕΚ 6191/Β/23-12-2021).
